The mission of the LA General/USC Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship Program is to train the next generation of clinical cardiovascular leaders who share a passion for serving a diverse and vulnerable patient population.
A rich clinical exposure compromised of two distinct hospital settings – a top-flight quaternary academic referral center and the largest safety-net public hospital in the western United States – provides an unparalleled cardiovascular medicine training experience. USC fellows are trained by world-class clinical experts in such fields as interventional and structural cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, advanced heart failure and transplant, pregnancy and heart disease, and adult congenital heart disease.
Beyond our rigorous clinical training and innovative curriculum, our fellows are able to tap into a rich network of resources in pursuit of their clinical and academic interests. Whether your interests are in clinical research, cardiovascular technologies, healthcare policy, health systems leadership, street medicine, health equity, population health, or medical education, there is a mentor and a path for you.
Our ability to match robust clinical and procedural volumes with individualized training pathways has allowed our fellows to confidently enter academic or community practice in virtually every niche of cardiology: from advanced heart failure and transplant to women’s cardiovascular disease and structural/interventional cardiology. The ethos of our program revolves around a strong commitment to service, excellence in clinical care, and a tight-knit USC family.
